APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
Although easy to install on most clean dry surfaces, Studiotak does require two or more people to handle, dispense and lay the 1220mm wide material.
With its backing paper still in place, roll out the StudioTak in the area you wish to cover, then cut to the overall length required. See figure (1)
With the backing side facing up, start to peel the backing paper off. One person holds the other end of the cut section of the Studiotak, the second person carefully peels away the backing paper and discards it. See figure (2)
Once the backing paper is removed, turn the StudioTak over; this will require the two 'installers' to be at either end of the cut section. Taking the four corners of the StudioTak section, carefully turn over holding one edge up. Take care not to let the Studiotak stick to itself!
One of the installers (we call the smoother), positions about 150mm adhesive 'edge' to the floor making sure it is positioned correctly (flat & without wrinkles). The other person in the team should be holding his end of the StudioTak at chest height with enough tension to keep the length from touching the floor, leaving only the 150mm strip sticking to the floor. See figure (3)
Our 'smoother' now takes an industrial (600mm wide) rubber edged squeegee and, with firm pressure applied, 'smoothes' the StudioTak on the floor, paying close attention to ensure that any bubbles or wrinkles are removed. See figure (4). Practice really does make perfect with this application.
The next section is laid in the same way, remembering to overlap by about 25/35mm. Each additional section follows the same procedure. Any air bubbles that remain can be 'popped out' with a pin to ensure a super-smooth finish.
